You CANNOT compare it to MTGO or any other big production game. It too has only a handful of "decks" that can win. what would poker be if you had 100, or 1000 winning decks? It would be interesting, but likely complicated. Personally, I DON'T THINK THIS CAN BE SOLVED. These have been nerfed but as stated above, does nothing to affect the elder game when few decks once again dominate. as well the lord of pain deck came to the forefront. It IS new in that by trying to give hamsters more power, you created the (now nerfed?) hamster/healer deck. but in the end they ALL discover that only a handful of decks win, all the others lose, hence those decks dominate. AT the newbie game, sure there are tons of decks that people use as they discover the game. it is also folly to think that everyone of your ideas shoud be implemeted just because you paid for the game.ģ) There have ALWAYS been only a handful of decks that people use. Trust me, game design is NOT a democracy and while our opinins should be given merit, it is seldom in the way that the players appreciate or even know about! It is folly to think that the admins are not paying attention to us. Some say that the tower/gift/whatever deck is too powerful others say they miss it. Some say they want to change A, other want to keep A. You simply can predict every player combination etc without a huge dev/test team or a supercomputer, both of which I suspect the AM team does not have without putting it out there and seeing what happens.Ģ) Fine, the admins should listen to the registered users. changing one variable has 5 effects that you can account for and 10 that you can't. Consider that for this is a complicated interrelated system. IT"S TOUGH! Heck, I challenge you to come up with a 50 card balanced card game of your own and see how far you get. I challenge ANYONE that thinks they need to Balance, Nerf, Add, whatever to come up with a balanced version of AM. But let's face a few facts:ġ) Just because you play a game does not make you a game designer. Used to be I'd play it every day now it's been two months and maybe a game or two? I don't like the new nerf and it seems no one does. Prevent broken decks and broken cards from dominating the game, and then you'll see deck variety.Īnd if you get deck variety, you'll see more exciting and diversified games. All it does is show that there a hundreds and hundreds of crap cards if you have more cards total.īalance the cards and then you'll see deck variety. And only a few decks and specific cards are really used, so that validates that card number does not improve the game. Magic the Gathering has thousands of cards, and they have unbalanced broken cards too. So what does that leave? Balancing the cards. It's a broken deck, it's a bad deck, and it's still there. I'm fairly certain the whole "nerf" concept failed. I played against two players who were using it today. Maybe for lower level players it made a serious impact, but the deck is still very functional. Recently the moderators said they were "nerfing" the whole gifts of the sea deck by chaning the cost of the cards. The real issue is to get the cards more balanced. Whether you have 200 cards or 2000 cards, if they are unbalanced and only a few get played, it has no impact how many you have total. I do not agree that 200 cards is too many, nor too few. (The better way in my oppinion is not to decrease exp for loose but decrease points of raiting or something). Because of EXP policy in game there are not possible to play tournaments in construced type!!! Small number of players that You can challenge on Your lvl.ĥ. Very small card amount, very, very small.Ĥ. It's ok, everybody do that and it's only because of forward reasons.Ģ. For example: You chose Hamsters I have chose bargul, is there any point to play this duel? You chose rush, I have chose slow control with "return to hand cards", is it not clear who will be a winner? There are no differen but equal decks and You know why? There are some reasons:ġ. The player that will win is not the player with more creative or original deck and flexible strategy thinking, but player with antideck of other player's deck. And that's all including 3-4 varieties of this decks. So every plays Hamsters, Ability card drawer, Brakers, Rush, Dragons, Control. Why do I have to create something that don't work if thee is many proven real good combos and decks? There is only 6-7 decks that everyone plays, and not because players are stupid and can't create something themselves but cuz there is only few real playable combination! When I play, I see that many players play the similar deck.
